Your swimming pool’s water is pumped to your filter where undissolved debris will be removed by one of the three primary ways, based on the different materials that are used to filter your water:
- Sand
- Cartridge
- DE (Diatomaceous Earth)
Sand filters are the most popular filters. They have the desired features of being low cost and incredibly easy to use.
Cartridge filters offer longer cleaning cycles, are most energy efficient, and conserves the most water out of the three filtration types.
DE filters have been known in the pool industry for providing the clearest water and the most consistent. However, this does require more maintenance on the home owners part.
